Hi, I am Pam and I super excited to bring True North Power Yoga and Yoga Therapy to you. I honestly can not believe that I am the owner and founder of this sacred space that I so proudly and humbly bring to you. My promise to you is to show up and provide you with my best, raw, authentic, self. Yoga came into my life about 10 years ago and quite frankly, transformed me. It didn't change me as much as it allowed for a clearing, a breaking down of barriers and walls that opened my eyes to the naked reality of my life. This awareness, which feels like magic, combined with the intelligent Baptiste methodology, gave me the skills and tools required for me to make the necessary leaps of faith for me to live an extraordinary life. The healing practices of yoga taught and cultivated my mind, body, and spirit. It brought me into my True North and continues to empower me to face my personal life challenges, fears, depression and anxiety that are still present in my life. The transformation is in how I manage and perceive these experiences. Yoga offered and taught me the pleasure of truly living and experiencing life - awake, aware, and present. This is the very practice I am ready to share with all of you and am willing to take this journey along side of you, together to grow, develop, experience pain, experience love, laughter and light, now and forever. Welcome to my truth, True North. With Gratitude and Love, Pam.
A few things about me:
I am a certified Baptiste yoga teacher, 500 hour certified experienced yoga teacher and yoga therapist, as well as a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist for over 20 years. I earned my Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut and continued my training and education by completing level 2 training in EMDR and advanced studies at the Integrative Psychotherapy Center for 8 years. I began my work in social service at the age of 19. While pursuing my undergraduate degree, I chose field placements in a battered women' s shelter and at a rape crisis center. From there, I began my professional career in mobile crisis units across the state followed by 4 years at a residential facility for abused adolescent females. I worked as a psychotherapist for the United States Veterans Administration for 9 years. During my employment at the VA, I specialized in anxiety, depression, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorders. I also have extensive experience in sexual trauma, domestic violence, substance abuse and treatment of adolescence. I was in private practice for 12 years and specialized in depression, anxiety, trauma and marital therapy.
In addition to my MSW, I am a 500 hour registered experienced Yoga Alliance yoga teacher and yoga therapist specializing in yoga for addiction and mental health. I am a clinician and yoga therapist at Rushford, Avon, an affiliate of Hartford Healthcare. I am responsible for the Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs. The program I designed and implemented at Rushford blends the perfect marriage of yoga, the spiritual principles of 12 Steps, community, and integrity. I have completed two 200-hour teacher training programs and completed 2, 500 hour yoga teacher training with a concentration in yoga therapy. I have studied at the Baptiste Institute and am a 500 ERTY certified Baptiste teacher. I have completed 500 hours in Baptiste programs and am committed and dedicated to developing and evolving with the Baptiste Institute. I am known for my challenging and vigorous power vinyasa which includes a strong emphasis on alignment and breath. While I am committed and passionate about the physical practice of yoga, I encourage self-acceptance, compassion, and self -awareness by providing a safe place for inquiry and spiritual growth on the sacred space of the yoga mat. My compassion for others and commitment to change the world one human at a time is led by my own personal daily practice and discipline to fully embrace life on life’s terms.
My other certifications include:
Yoga4Cancer with Tari Prinster
Yoga for Children – Childlight Yoga
Yoga Body Boot Camp – Yoga for Athletes
Extensive training for Yoga for Depression, Anxiety and Trauma Sensitive Yoga
12 Step Recovery Yoga (Y12SR) with Niki Myers
I am also a victim and a survivor of domestic trauma and fraud. I was married for 19 years to a man who defrauded me and my children. He committed a crime that left us homeless . He attempted to implement me in his crimes by quit claiming our family home in my name and selling the home out from underneath us. The federal government sued me in a civil lawsuit for the proceeds of the house that I never actually received. I was also held responsible for nearly $500,000.00 in unpaid income tax. I was found innocent under the Innocent Spouse Act by the IRS. Today, I am divorced and thriving with my 2 girls. We are recovering from a trauma that forever changed us. I am committed to helping and supporting other women who also suffer from financial abuse and domestic abuse. I am grateful daily for the people in my life that helped me see the light on some of the darkest days of my life. I am especially grateful to my family and who I call my best friend, Kimberly Haymond. For that, I am committed to sharing my experience with others to support those who experience domestic trauma.
I have transformed myself, my life, my world, by practicing yoga daily. "Yoga did not change me, it found me." "Yoga has taught me that the practice on my mat is simply the preparation for living my life, in awareness, in the present, and in reality. It has taught me that my dreams are not limited and that anything is possible.“
Michelle Voegtle, RYT 200, In 2015, after practicing yoga for years, Michelle decided that she may want to her hand in teaching. Michelle, ever passionate for fitness, had spent years playing and coaching team sports. But, it was yoga that allowed for the balance of health and fitness with personal and spiritual growth. After this thought had bounced around for some time, she entered a class one day with the intention of uncovering the next step in what has become a journey. Michelle told herself that if an instructor mentioned teaching, she would seriously consider moving forward. Sure enough, it happened! Michelle enrolled in the YTT 200 hour power yoga certification program shortly thereafter.
Michelle initially began her yoga journey in Bikram and later discovered Baptiste through recovery work. She has found that yoga is a place of challenge, discovery and leadership as well as peace and compassion. To date, Michelle has been practicing yoga for 9 years and includes this important work as Clinical Supervisor at Rushford in Avon through Integrative Wellness Programming.

Jim Quinn, RYT 200. Yoga is my sanctuary. It is where I go breathe, focus, sweat, move, be still, and find calm. Discovering the mind/body connection through yoga has provided me with peace and insight that has improved all aspects of my life, and helped me become a more open person. It has, literally, become a way of life. It is my goal to open the same door for my students. I will bring Baptiste inspired power flow to True North, along with music from across the spectrum. In the rest of my life, I am a father to two adult daughters, and a full time practicing lawyer.
