True North Power Vinyasa Yoga will provide you with the knowledge and platform for being an effective teacher and powerful leader. This program will provide you with the foundation to become an authentic, powerful, yoga teacher and leader. You will experience teaching and living with integrity, intention and strength on and off the mat. This program is for students who are seeking to become high impact power vinyasa yoga teachers, and for current teachers with or without previous power vinyasa yoga training and/or students who wish to deepen their yoga practice and gain an overall understanding of yoga philosophy. Your physical practice will strengthen, your confidence will expand and you will develop new leadership skills. You will walk away from this training ready to lead, teach and inspire others to transform and be ready for what is possible on and off your mat.
True North Power Vinyasa Yoga is rooted in the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Methodology. The source principles of Baptiste yoga are “Physicalness, Possibility, and Empowerment.” The practices and techniques of Baptiste Yoga are Asana (physical), Meditation and Inquiry. True North Yoga’s YTT builds insight and inspires curiosity through discussion, practice teaching, live coaching, hands-on assisting, and self-inquiry in a safe and supportive environment.
True North Yoga's 200. The Yoga Teacher Training School was founded by Pamela a trained 500-hour yoga therapist and has been a practicing licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist for over 20 years. Currently, Pamela is the yoga therapist for an outpatient substance abuse clinic. She is responsible for creating and implementing a yoga recovery curriculum for people who are addicted, detoxing, and are in recovery from substances. Pamela has extensive training and expertise with working with people who suffer and live with mental health dis-eases. Her training supports clients to transform their lives by encouraging them to face their fears on and off their mats by teaching them skills and tools that create the courage required to take change to transformation. Pamela continues her yoga education in her trainings with Baptiste Yoga and is committed to her own daily yoga practice. She is steadfast with her work with clients who suffer from mental illness, addiction and those in recovery. She continues to update her skills and knowledge shared in her classes and workshops to make sure they are of the highest of credibility and quality, as well as being current to the newest and latest of yoga today.
We are also proud to have Sue Stains MacClain as part of our teaching ensemble. About Sue:
Sue believes that a good day is any day she gets to step onto her mat. In describing her connection to yoga, she says, "Yoga is my peace, my inspiration, and my refuge. It has become part of who I am. It is my connection to earth and my space to be. It is infinitely patient, elegantly simple, and immeasurably expansive. My relationship with it is much like any other. It has seen highs and lows, has taught me patience and compassion, and continues to evolve, showing me that the more I give, the more I receive."
Sue is a Certified Baptiste Yoga Teacher, and has completed numerous yoga trainings with many teachers, but it was her experience at her first Baptiste training that set the course for her to explore the power of Baptiste Yoga and the desire to share it with others. Sue's teaching style follows the principles of Baptiste Yoga, incorporating alignment and mindfulness, as well as intuitive flow and breath.
Off her mat, Sue is an artist and creative director in the field of marketing and communications. She studies the art of Thangkga painting, Buddhist Dharma and meditation with her teacher, Lama Tsondru Sangpo Butia. Creative expression, meditation and spiritual practice are the hallmarks of her yoga practice and life.
"I teach because it shows me who I really am. Much of what I am learning about myself and how I move through life, I am learning on my yoga mat and with meditation. Teaching, learning and conveying the experiences of my own living yoga practice inspires me to inspire others."

An open mind, heart and a clear understanding that you are signing up for long and intense yoga training days
A sticky yoga mat
True North Yoga Teacher Training Staff
Facilitator: True North founder Pamela Mirante-500 RYT, Certified Baptiste Teacher, yoga therapist and licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist
$2,500 if paid in full or $2,800 if opting for payment plan
A non-refundable $500 deposit must accompany your application. Your application will not be reviewed until the deposit is received.
The deposit will be applied to your tuition balance.
Additional costs may include purchase of selected books.
Payment Plan Option (w/ service fee):
First deposit of $933.33 due on September 1st.
Second deposit of $933.33 due January 5th
Third deposit of $933.33 due March 5th
100% attendance is required. In the event a class is missed due to circumstances beyond control, all missed hours must be completed before graduation.
If the instructor is required to spend time with the student to cover missed information, a fee of $75/hour applies. Students who fail to hold make up sessions or pay their fee will be dismissed from the program.
Sessions begin on time and students are expected to be present and prepared. Any student who fails to attend a session without notification is assumed withdrawn from the program. In the event of a medical disability, a leave of absence will be granted. With a leave of absence, the student may reapply for the next available training and apply their credit for missed sessions towards this training.
True North Power Yoga is conveniently located in the quaint shopping plaza of Riverdale Farms on Rte. 10/202 (Simsbury Road) in Avon. We are an easily accessible from Avon, Simsbury, West Hartford, Canton, Granby and Bloomfield. Our address is 136 Simsbury Road, Building 6, behind Toshi Japanese Restaurant and directly across from the Lime Grill. Parking is vast and free.
